Tax implications: You can register an Individual Entrepreneur and obtain 1% Small Business Status while on this visa-free stay, with no residence permit. Tax residency generally triggers after 183 days.related scheme →

The headline route for most nomads — a full year visa-free, in practice extendable by a border run (the ordinance sets no mandatory gap). It does NOT count toward permanent residence. A new 'right to work' regime (from 2026-03-01) may affect how a foreign-client-only Individual Entrepreneur is treated — official guidance is still being clarified.

Only needed by those who want formal residence beyond the visa-free year (e.g. to build toward permanent residence after 10 years). Fees rise for faster processing (GEL 300 / 450 / 600 for 30 / 20 / 10 days). The income figure is expressed as a multiple of the subsistence level; the exact current GEL value is set periodically by Geostat.
